When the grill beckons and the promise of a chilled 805 awaits, you can bet we’re game. And while the upcoming game day weekend may promise bustling sports bars filled with fans, sometimes a laid-back gathering in your own backyard is the route to take. So, if you’re into keeping things simple then we have just the thing: 805 grill recipes for a laid-back day with family and friends.

GRILLED CERVEZA FISH TACOS
WITH CONNER COFFIN

Picture shoving off for a glassy day out beyond the Southern California coastline with 805 Authentico Conner Coffin. As the avid waterman we know him so well for, the agenda is always pretty simple: catch a few fish, marinate them up right on the boat, and grill them with a few 805 Cervezas in hand.

Here’s a quick hit list for Grilled Cerveza Fish Tacos:

STEP 1: CRACK OPEN AN 805 CERVEZA
STEP 2: CATCH SOME FISH
STEP 3: MARINATE CLEANED FISH IN 805 CERVEZA FOR 2 HOURS
STEP 4: SEASON FISH WITH SALT + LIME
STEP 5: GRILL SEASONED FISH UNTIL COOKED (PLACING IT ON A VERY HOT GRILL FOR ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES PER SIDE SHOULD DO THE TRICK)
STEP 6: SALT + LIGHTLY GRILL TORTILLAS
STEP 7: BUILD TACOS + ADD TOPPINGS
STEP 8: DRINK ANOTHER 805 + DIG IN

That right there is a pretty simple process of making the most out of freshly caught fish. Pretty easy, right? We think so. And sure, we may not all have access to the ocean in our backyard like Conner does but heading to the local market is an easy substitute for an epic meal that pairs perfectly with a cold 805.

A BACKYARD PLAYLIST FOR THE WEEKEND

What sense does it make to grill without your favorite tracks playing in the background? We threw a little playlist together to eliminate that nonsense of not having anything. Be sure to keep the BBQ vibes going strong and give it a listen below.

SANTA MARIA STYLE TRI-TRIP
WITH STETSON LAWRENCE

Grilling a tri-tip might be one of the most effortless yet rewarding BBQ styles out there. Think about it. All you need is a prime tri-tip roast, a flavorful rub, a hot grill, and of course, a few 805 beers. Well, 805 Authentico, Stetson Lawrence knows a thing or two about Santa Maria style barbecue. And lucky for us, we had the chance to share a few cold ones over some well-seasoned top sirloin steaks with Stetson, and yes, they hit the spot.

Check these steps out for an easy Santa Maria Style 805 Tri-Tip:

STEP 1: CRACK OPEN AN 805
STEP 2: THROW TRI-TIP IN A SUITABLE VESSEL
STEP 3: MARINATE WITH 805 FOR 2 HOURS
STEP 4: REMOVE + SEASON GENEROUSLY WITH RUB
STEP 5: HEAT UP THE GRILL + THROW TRI-TIP ON  (THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO GO ABOUT THIS, BUT OUR FAVORITE IS TO SEAR THE TRI-TIP 5-7 MINUTES PER SIDE OVER HIGH, DIRECT HEAT BEFORE MOVING IT OVER TO SOME INDIRECT HEAT FOR ANOTHER 10-15 MINUTES PER SIDE)
STEP 6: TAKE A FEW REFRESHING SIPS OF 805
STEP 7: TAKE YOUR GRILLED-TO-YOUR-LIKING TRI-TIP OFF, LET IT REST A FEW, AND ENJOY
STEP 8: OH, AND SHARE WITH FRIENDS + FAMILY

If you are in need of a bit more details on this simplified process, you’re in luck. We’ve put a few videos together and are pushing them out on our Instagram channel one by one. Head on over and check them out. We’ve been tapping into a few 805 Authenticos and other insanely creative cooks, chefs, and all-around grillers for some quick tips on what they’ll be throwing together this coming weekend. From 805 beer can chicken to beer-brined brats, we have a nice lineup of dishes that will ante-up whatever game day plans are on the horizon (or not).
